At 3 years old, he’s the picture of grace and precision in the field, known for his strong nose and rock-solid points. Otter combines natural talent with refined instincts, delivering performance and poise that reflect his royal lineage. With every cast, he moves with purpose and elegance—an exceptional bird dog through and through.

Cricket is a striking tricolor English Setter with a natural gift for pointing—something she displayed the very first time she encountered a bird as a pup. Now 2 year old, she’s already made her mark as a confident and driven pointer, blending elegance with boldness and unwavering focus in the field. Recently stepping into motherhood with a boy and girl of her own, Cricket balances her new role with the same energy and instinct she brings to hunting. When she’s not tending to her pups, you’ll find her running full tilt, nose to the ground, always eager for her next find.

Philip is a young English Setter, white with black markings and touches of orange ticking. The offspring of Otter and Cricket, he is a sweet-natured boy who loves to play, has a big appetite, and listens well. Philip carries the look of his mother, Cricket, but often shows his father’s facial expressions, a blend that makes him truly unique. As he grows, he is already showing strong potential to develop into a skilled pointer, carrying forward the traits of his lineage with promise for the future.

Martha is a tricolor English Setter and the offspring of Cricket and Otter, making her Philip’s sibling. She closely resembles her father, both in looks and in her natural drive. Fierce and energetic, Martha loves to play, roam, and put her nose to work. Even at a young age, she shows strong potential and is expected to grow into a skilled and determined pointing dog.

Mack joined us at the start of our string and quickly proved himself as both a skilled hunter and a loving companion. Off the clock, he’s all heart—always ready to curl up in your lap and soak up attention. Mack is the perfect balance of field grit and affectionate charm.

Slim is a 1-year-old liver-colored English Cocker Spaniel with a distinctive white chest marking. He hails from a prestigious bloodline from England.
Don’t let his shy nature fool you—Slim is all business in the field. He's lightning-fast, with a natural drive to flush and retrieve birds with precision. His calm, reserved personality off the hunt is a charming contrast to his focused energy when it’s go-time.
Slim's pedigree is stacked with working dog history, tracing back to Mallowdale names in his line. This is the drive, intelligence, and heart we're building the future of our kennel on.

Marlee, a cherished black English Labrador Retriever, was renowned for her versatility and consistency in the field. She was a loyal hunting partner who excelled at retrieving ducks from the water and flushing upland game from thick cover. Though her youthful intensity had mellowed, she remained passionate about the hunt, always ready to work or heel quietly by your side.
This extraordinary dog tragically passed away during our first hunt of the 2025 season. We will miss her deeply, especially her unique and tender way of holding our hand with her mouth as we walked. Her spirit and dedication will always be with us in the blind and the field. Forever in our hearts.
Walter
German Wirehaired Pointer – Bird Pointer, Flusher & Retriever
Walter is a versatile and driven German Wirehaired Pointer, trained for both upland and waterfowl hunting. At just one year old, he already shows exceptional skill in pointing, flushing, and retrieving game, making him a dependable partner in the field and on the water. Bred by Briar Woods Kennels in North Carolina, Walter carries a strong lineage of hunting excellence and brings both enthusiasm and precision to every hunt.

Bess is a senior English Pointer with a clean white coat accented by soft orange speckled ears, and striking amber eyes. Gifted to our working line, she has proven to be an invaluable addition to the team. In the field, Bess showcases a brilliant nose and a steady, dependable point, traits that highlight her years of experience. Off duty, she is calm and docile, a gentle presence who balances her driven working style with a composed temperament at home.
Cooper
English Pointer - Bird Pointer
Cooper is a handsome English Pointer with a clean white coat accented by soft orange speckled ears, and striking amber eyes. He came to us alongside his big sister Bess as a gift to our working line and quickly proved himself a natural in the field. Cooper has a good nose and a keen instinct for the hunt, always alert and watching anything with wings. He loves to run and roam, and he honors Bess’s points with respect and steadiness, showing promise as both a skilled hunting partner and a loyal companion.
Scarlett
English Cocker Spaniel – Bird Flusher & Retriever
Scarlett is a black and white English Field-Bred Cocker Spaniel bursting with energy and drive. Just a few months old, she is already showing remarkable promise and will be ready to hunt within the month. Scarlett’s intelligence, nonstop enthusiasm, and natural instincts make her stand out as one of the most talented young cockers we’ve ever seen. She comes to us from Hathaway Gun Dogs Kennels and has quickly proven herself to be a dynamic addition to our team.

English Cocker Spaniel – Bird Flusher & Retriever
Margaret is a white and orange-spotted English Field-Bred Cocker Spaniel and the youngest member of our working line. Sweet-natured and affectionate, she loves to curl up and cuddle when it’s time to rest. True to her personality, Margaret insists on a cozy, comfortable place to sleep after a long day of play. Though gentle and calm at heart, she has short bursts of spirited “zoomies” that bring a spark of joy to everyone around her.

American Labrador Retriever
Rocky is a brown American Labrador Retriever with boundless energy and drive. Originally a rescue, he proved to have too much intensity to thrive as a typical house dog; however, with us, he has found the perfect outlet for his talents. Rocky listens well, retrieves with enthusiasm, and is a powerful swimmer, making him a reliable working companion.
At home, he has quieted down significantly now that he can channel his energy into work, and he truly enjoys being indoors. Rocky stands as a great example of how rehoming a dog with the right people can turn high energy into a true working asset.
Honoring ami - The Spirit of the Hunt
Ami came into my life like a gift I never knew I needed. A German Shorthaired Pointer with a soul that seemed to know the land better than I did. She was given to me by a man who no longer had the time for her, but fate had its own plans. Ami wasn’t just a dog; she was a guide, a teacher, and the spark that ignited my passion for upland bird hunting.
With legs that stretched long and lean, she moved through the fields like poetry in motion—fluid, effortless, and almost weightless. Her body a perfect balance of power and grace. When she held point, it was as if time paused. Her posture locked, muscles taut, nose pointed like an arrow to the heart of the hunt. She set the bar high — the best bird dog I’d ever seen, and she carried that title with effortless elegance.
Ami’s strength was unparalleled. She survived a gunshot wound on a hunt, a brutal test of her resilience, and came back as fierce and determined as ever. But even warriors have their battles, and in the end, it was cancer that took her from me. Yet, her spirit never faded. Every time I step into a field, I feel her presence — in the rustle of the grass, in the burst of wings, in the quiet moments of dawn before the world stirs awake.
Losing her taught me the precious value of capturing moments. That’s why I now carry a camera alongside my gear, photographing hunts not just for the sport, but to preserve the fleeting moments, to honor the working dogs who give us everything they have. For the love and loyalty of the dogs that guide us, the beauty of their work, and the bond we share.
And every time I walk through a field, I feel her beside me. She is there in the hush before a flush, in the weight of a perfect point, in the heartbeat of the hunt itself. I miss her always. I remember her always. She was more than a bird dog. She was my guide, my teacher, and my constant reminder of the grace and grit it takes to live fully. And as long as I’m out there, she’s right beside me, running free.
